How to get Negative Feedback Removed

February 2, 2018 by Nathan Holmquist 6 Comments

Amazon is very straightforward about importance of seller feedback.  According to Amazon, “Your feedback rating is one of the most important measures buyers use when making purchasing decisions.”

I will show you how to remove negative feedback at the end of this article, but first I want to go into detail about the importance of your feedback score.

Feedback Influences Buy Box Position – Amazon uses seller feedback (among other factors) to determine who gets the buy box.  All things being equal, the seller with the better feedback usually gets the sale.

Feedback Impacts your Relationship with Amazon – If your seller account gets suspended, Amazon does factor feedback into its decision to reinstate your account.

Feedback Adds Value to your Business – The more positive feedback you receive, the more you set yourself apart from the competition.   A buyer will most likely pick a seller with a lifetime of 15,000 positive feedback compared to a seller with a lifetime of 200 positive feedback.

Feedback Influences Non-Buy Box Orders – Some buyers will ignore the buy box and click on the “other sellers on Amazon” link.  Then they will search for the seller with the best feedback score.

As a result, it’s very important to get negative feedback removed.  There are a couple ways you can do this.

  1. Ask the seller to remove it.
  2. Ask Amazon to remove it.

I always go with the second option first, because it’s a much simpler process.  I get about 70% of my negative feedback removed this way.

I show you the step-by-step process in the video below:

Maybe 8 months before it was relatively easy to reach feedback removal from Amazon, but not now. After feedback removal policy change it is really hard.

I haven’t noticed a difference. Of course not all feedback gets removed, but a large portion does. Either way, it’s a lot better when FBA first started. You weren’t allowed to get any feedback removed under any circumstances.

As long as feedback is concerning product, you can get it removed. The first was successfully removed but surprisingly not the second one which actually was concerning product. Maybe if you reached our to seller support through normal contact request and asked them to remove it, they would be able to do that? Worth trying maybe?
